Been dealing with a lot of the nitty gritty of life lately, and one thing I’m more certain of with every passing year: sometimes you just have to stand there and slug it out. Case in point, today I was working with my shotgun, making a matrix of where my slugs hit with each choke that I might shoot them through, at specific distances. I didn’t want to spend the time, or money to do this, but it needed to be done. Someone told me it was a waste of time...imagine how I listened to them (insert hysterical laughter). It might be easier to just wing it and send enough slugs downrange in a match to hit my target, but it wouldn’t be as clean in the execution. Sometimes that’s life - we don’t want to spend the time or money on something like walking back and forth to catalog 48 slugs or sitting down and dealing with people or situations that are eroding our work, ... but in the long run, life is better and we can get on with what really matters, if we just slug it out when it comes to things that we can learn from.
